This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, who addressed the Air Force on their professional holiday, Ukrinform reports with reference to Zelensky’s press service.
“We will definitely create a reliable ‘air shield’ over Ukraine, which can become the basis of the ‘air shield’ throughout Europe,” he said.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine does not yet have sufficient air defense capabilities that would allow for protecting the sky from Russian attacks over the entire territory of the country.
According to the head of state, the country’s leadership works daily with international partners to ensure that the required capabilities are provided to Ukraine.
“We keep convincing our partners that the pace of delivery of what we agreed upon is a key factor,” Zelensky added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the first Sunday of August, Ukraine celebrates its Air Force Day.
